Creativity Is Your Birthright
Creating is not just a cutesy thing that some people do, it's who you are at your core.
Humanity is disconnected from itself.
We race clocks that we created, work the jobs that we created, doom scroll the phones that we created, binge watch television that we created, absorb too much news that we created without ever visiting our own internal sense of being the creator.
All of this creation around us, yet we feel more stuck, consumed and unfulfilled than ever before. That’s the irony.
Humans are creative by nature. It is your birthright to be creative and one of the earliest identities you hold is creator.
What we see right now though, is a shift, or a split. There are creators who keep creating, who know who they are and boldly put their work out there….and there are consumers. Consumers who over consume and never give a constructive thought except to complain about how miserable and unbearable life has become.
When you deny yourself the very essence of your existence, and one of the earliest identities you hold, you deny your soul a piece of itself. All humans are creative, everything that we’ve doomed ourselves with has been created by humans.
There is no lack of creativity, there is a lack of execution and a lack of understanding how far creativity can expand because we have put rules and price tags on creative expression.
People will blurt out “I’m not creative” without even realizing that 1) they are lying to themselves and 2) they are denying themselves one of the oldest essence’s of the “I Am” identity that they hold.
Limiting beliefs and ego tricks come in to tell you that you are not creative simply because you don’t believe you write well….however you can put delicious meals together with no recipe or forethought; that is being creative.
Limiting beliefs will tell you that because you can’t draw anything beyond stick figures you are not creative: meanwhile you can create a tune with nothing but the hum of your voice and the drum of your hands.
Limiting beliefs and societal conditioning will tell you that creation is play, that there is work to be done and bills to get paid therefore there is no time to be creative because coloring is a waste of time….yet you doom scroll for 3 hours and ignore the fact that creation can be a playful style of work.
We’re in an era where creativity is being rewarded again. We’re in a time where people are getting paid for their creations, which if you ask me is getting paid to exist; this is also your birthright.
When we look at the economy and what it holds today, we see people creating and monetizing themselves through social media platforms either from the monetization programs of the platform itself, or through their own digital products or services.
The age of information means there is no shortage on what you can create, package and sell. The shortage lies in audacity and execution. The audacity to take it back to your inner core roots and birthright as the creator, and the execution to actually do the creating that will pay you.
The digital age allows us to get paid for creation and to pivot back into our own birthright. The issue is you spend too much time consuming what others have created. Even as your birthright, creativity is still a muscle that needs to be exercised (like I say about your intuition). To get better at creating, you have to start and keep creating.
To get paid to create, you have to put your creations out there and create solutions to people’s problems.
A lot of the happiness you seek is on the other side of returning back to who you are at the core. By accident, we’ve been put in a place where when we play our cards right, we can make a living by simply being ourselves. By being in tune with our creative nature. In order to do that you need to get in touch with your intuitive side, that will guide you through creation. Then you need to obey what comes through so that you can execute on your calling. Your calling is buried in your intuition. Your calling is also buried in your creative blocks. Be still to listen, then turn around and execute.
